I believe in a world in which everyone has access to the healthcare that they need to thrive. After my dreams of being a doctor crumbled, I became curious about how our bodies work – specifically how we can use what we know to improve our ability to heal when things go wrong.
Whilst studying biomedical science at University, I worked in cancer wards in our local hospital; this quickly became my area of focus. I wanted to understand how new cancer therapies are developed – how they work, where they work, and also where our current medicines are not good enough.
An entrepreneur through-and-through, I love working to solve hard problems with smart people, and a toolbox of cutting-edge science and technology. I am now the Co-Founder and CEO of a biotechnology company – Theolytics – harnessing viruses to combat cancer. I also sit on the Board of the UK Biotechnology Industry, representing and supporting the sector as a whole to influence government policy and better connect our community.
