Hana Ayoob
Science Illustrator, Events Producer and Speaker

I’m an events producer, speaker and illustrator working science communication. I love bringing people together to explore science and the world around them. I studied zoology at university and still spend a lot of time drawing and talking about weird and wonderful animals.
I had a bit of a rocky journey towards science. I always wanted to be an artist or a designer, and it felt like you had to choose between art and science. Even after studying science at university, I realised while I loved science, research wasn’t really for me. Luckily, I found out there are so many creative jobs where you can still explore scientific topics.
The older I get, the more I realise that art and science work so well together! I now get paid to draw things which are related to science, using both my science degree and the drawing skills I’ve practiced all my life. I use my love and experience of art and the theatre when I’m planning science events too. Art and science really aren’t as a separate or different as they’re often made out to be.
