Inheritance STEM experiment kit

£48.00£180.00 inc. VAT

Inheritance is a tricky topic to make hands-on and interesting for upper KS2 and transition to KS3, so we teamed up with the University of Sheffield and Strathclyde, the Medical Research Council and the British Society for Gene and Cell Therapy to create a STEM experiment kit that explores inheritance, while also incorporating literacy, maths and medicine.

Centred around a child with a curable inherited eye condition, students will learn about how things are inherited and will conduct a model scientific assay to test for, and treat, the eye condition.  The complete kit includes:

  • Why am I me inheritance game
  • Seeing differently make and test genetic eye condition glasses kits
  • Test and treat a genetic disease – conduct a scientific assay to test who in the model family has inherited the genetic eye condition
  • 1 Teacher hero-making booklet including: printable certificate, homework template, test activity packs, prizes, 30 pencils and STEM career aspirations fortune teller

NOTE: The top up pack only contains the consumable parts to enable you to reuse the full kit.
